David Midgley, former JCB Group Telematics Manager joins Microlise.
Microlise have appointed David Midgley, former Group Telematics Manager at JCB, as its new Director of OEM and Channel.
The newly-created role is a key appointment to support Microlise’s strategy of growing its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) relationships, while continuing to support key partners such as MAN Truck & Bus UK, Knorr Bremse and Tata Motors.
Midgley brings a wealth of experience to Microlise, having spent more than 17 years working in the on and off road OEM space, across JCB and MAN Truck & Bus UK.
Microlise, a pioneer of telematics technology, has been delivering enterprise grade solutions in the UK since 1999. It now counts 14 of the UK’s 15 largest retailers as customers, as well as manufacturers such as MAN Truck & Bus UK, JCB, DAF, Knorr Bremse and Tata Motors.
“I’m delighted to be joining a progressive and dynamic organisation with a history of delivering innovative technology solutions that add value and support increased profitability,” said Midgley.
Delivering telematics, journey management and proof of delivery solutions, Microlise products help fleets to reduce the cost and environmental impact of their fleet operations while delivering improved customer engagement.
“Private fleet customers aside, Microlise’s key differentiator is the depth and scale of its OEM base which includes some of the largest and most reputable truck and vehicle manufacturers in the world,” added Midgley.
Speaking about the appointment, Nadeem Raza, Microlise Chief Executive Officer commented: “Microlise has a clear commitment to grow our national and international OEM presence, and David brings the right level of technical and commercial expertise to support our ambitions.”
While heading up group telematics for JCB, Midgley was responsible for developing and supporting telematics services across the Group and for managing the LiveLink system across 250,000 live assets in more than 100 countries.
“David has a proven track record in programme leadership and delivery across the construction and transportation sector. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to the contribution he will make to our business plans,” added Raza.
